How to Pray Tahajjud?

How to Pray Tahajjud?

The Best prayer: And rise at "the last"
part of the night, offering additional
prayers.
Quran 17:79
The Prophet ﷺ said: The best prayer
after the obligatory (fard) prayers is
prayer at night.
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1614

How to pray?
There is no specific way to pray
tahajjud, so a Muslim should pray two
rak'ahs by two.
How many Rak'ah?
Allah's Messenger ﷺ used to offer
eleven rak at and that was his prayer,
but if anyone does more or less than
that, it does not matter.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1123

What to recite?
There are no specific surahs to be
recited in the night prayers; rather the
individual may recite whatever he is
able to of the Quran.
Is it Sunnah?
Yes, it is a confirmed Sunnah. The
Prophet prayed it and encouraged
others to pray.

When to pray?
It can be prayed at the beginning of
the night, in the middle or at the end,
although the end is preferable, and
the last third of the night is best.

The Sunnahs are:
1. To pray eleven Rak'at (Eight Rak'at's
2 by 2 and with 3 Rak'at of witr)
2. To prolong the prostration
3. To pray the 2 Rak'at before fair and
to lie down till the Adhan is heard

Difference between Tahajjud &
Qiyaam al-layl:
Shaykh In Baz (may Allah have
mercy on him) was asked: What is the
difference between Taraweeh, Qiyam
and Tahajjud? He replied: "Prayer
at night is called tahajjud or qiyam
al-lay!"
Fatawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baz, 11/317

Witr Prayer:
Witr can be prayed with one, three,
five, seven or more rak'ahs after 'Isha
untill Dawn Begins. The Sunnah is
to delay it if one is able to get up for
Qiyamal-Layl.

Other Acts of worship:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said,
"Our
Lord, the Blessed, the Superior,
comes every night down on the
nearest Heaven to us when the last
third of the night remains, saying: "Is
there anyone to invoke Me, so that I
may respond to invocation? Is there
anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant
him his request? Is there anyone
seeking My forgiveness, so that I may
forgive him?" Sahih al-Bukhari 1145

It is encouraged to Make Dua, to seek
forgiveness of Allah and do other
Acts of worship. May Allah accept it
from us.

MUHARRAM THE MONTH OF ALLAH

MUHARRAM THE MONTH OF ALLAH The month of Allah, al-Muharram, is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hiri year and is one of the sacred months. Literally meaning 'forbidden', Muharram is one of the four sacred months (Dhul Haji, Dhul Qa'dah, and Rajab). According to the Islamic teachings, the month of Muharram is so sacred that certain actions become forbidden during it, as they violate its sanctity. You can better understand the significance It is a month when the rewards for good deeds are multiplied; when the Prophet (saw) encouraged voluntary fasts and described it as the 'sacred month of Allah' What does the Quran say about Muharram?  Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are Sacred, (i.e., the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong, not yourselves t...

About MATAM IN ISLAM RIGHT OR WRONG

About MATAM IN ISLAM RIGHT OR WRONG Matm is a ritual done by Shia Muslims on 10th of Ashoora, in the grief of the Martyr Hussain رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ To show their grief they mourn and harm themselves by striking sword on their body or slapping their face and beating their chest. This action of their is unapproved from the Islamic Sources (The Quran & Sunnah) and it is considered as Haram and Bidah (Innovation). The Prophet did not do them, nor did any of his companions. None of his companions did them when he or anyone else died, although the loss of prophet Muhammad was greater than the death of Hussain  رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ. Prophet ﷺ,  strictly forbade harming oneself over the loss of someone dear to us and said: "He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garment, or cries with the cry of the Jaahiliyyah." (Sahih Bukhari : 1294) Infact these Shia do matm just as a showoff, because the loss of  Hussain (رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ) is a lesser loss than the...
